Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

The first night I spent on Mauna Kea was for altitude acclimitization, which is at 9600 ft. (Hale Pohaku, or "stone houses" in Hawaiian). While eating dinner I noticed a lot of flashes coming from the Mauna Loa direction, so I grabbed my camera and set my intervalometer to take 30 sec. shots, hoping I would catch lightning strikes during the exposure. I was rewarded with many shots of the clouds being lit up, the Milky Way on the right with Venus (the brightest "star"), and Mauna Loa. I even caught a few with the lightning bolt visible. I let the camera run until well past sunset while the lightning moved off towards the Kona direction.
