Description
The zodiacal light is visible as a column of light emanating from the west, due to dust in the solar system reflecting sunlight back towards Earth. Keck 2 is using its 15 Watt laser on the sky. A meteor was also caught in the frame apparently intersecting the laser, while the Andromeda galaxy is just to the right of the beam. The lights of Honolulu are visible over the horizon towards the right of Keck, while the lights of Waimea can be seen below. On the left of Keck 1 is the 8-meter Subaru telescope, with JCMT further on the left in the valley.
