Artist's Description

San Francisco at dusk in the summer of 2010. Part of Yerba Buena Island can be seen on the left side. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge west span is on the left side, with the Port of San Francisco ferry building visible just to the right of the bridge. The Transamerica Tower is in the center of the panorama, with Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill a little to the right. Most of the Embarcadero with its piers can be seen as well on the waterfront. Behind it the entire San Francisco skyline is beautifully lit up. Finally the Golden Gate Bridge is on the right side with the Marin Headlands behind it, and Alcatraz can be seen on just the right side. The many reflections of the city lights can be seen in the waters of San Francisco Bay as well.

I am now working towards my PhD studying infrared luminous galaxies in the COSMOS field. My interest in photography and my (future) profession in...
